Conwy County Borough Council car parks will reopen today (22nd June) with pay and display tickets back in use.

Most tourist and seaside car parking was closed at the end of March to support lockdown measures, while local car parks were available for residents to shop for essentials.

“Now that Welsh Government rules mean that we can travel locally to enjoy shopping and more outdoor activities, we are opening all our car parks,” said Cllr Greg Robbins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transportation.

“Parking pay machines accept cards and contactless payments as well as cash, and we are working to introduce a pay by phone system very shortly.

"Our staff will be cleaning the machines regularly. We’re asking residents to be aware of who is around them before they get out of their vehicle, so they can keep 2m distance from other car park users.”

The Council will also be processing annual permits for county wide and individual car parks. Residents who want to buy an annual permit can apply on the Council’s website at www.conwy.gov.uk/parking
