Colwyn Bay FC wins appeal to play in Welsh Tier 2 next season

Colwyn Bay Football Club have been informed today that their application for a Football Association of Wales 'licence' to operate in the second tier of the Welsh League next season has been approved on appeal.

A number of weeks ago, Manager Craig Hogg said that the body's decision to reject Colwyn Bay FC's application for next season was disappointing and hinted that clerical errors in their application may have been behind the initial rejection. The club subsequently submitted revised documents.

Here is the statement from the FAW.

FAW Tier 2 Certification is mandatory to participate in Tier 2 of the FAW Pyramid for the 2020/2021 season.

Colwyn Bay, Caerau Ely, Llanelli Town and STM Sports were initially refused Tier 2 Certification by the Independent Tier 2 First Instance Body on 7 May and submitted their appeals in accordance with the FAW Tier 2 Compliance Regulations.

Following the conclusion of the Appeals Body meeting, the following clubs were awarded Tier 2 Certification for the 2020/2021 season:

Colwyn Bay
Caerau Ely
Llanelli Town

The following club was refused Tier 2 certification for the 2020/2021 season:
