Colwyn Bay FC facing weekend's Top Five clash

January 29, 2020 - 1196 views

The Seagulls face a tough top five clash at Llanrhaeadr YM on Saturday (February 1st).

The Powys side are two points behind Colwyn Bay with a game in hand and know a victory will leapfrog them ahead of the Seagulls into the top four and close the gap on third-placed Guilsfield.

But they have not played for a month, since losing 3-0 at home to Guilsfield on January 4th, when they had three players sent off.

Since then they have been busy in the transfer window, signing George Mitton from Mid Wales League side Berriew, while former players Barry Morris, Lewis Davies and Endaf Owens have all returned to the club.

The Bay will need to be on top of their game and manager Craig Hogg admits: "How we respond to the disappointment of last Friday's Welsh Cup defeat at Flint is the most important test for our dressing room right now."

Sion Edwards is still suspended, but the club are hoping that international clearance comes through this week to enable new loan signing Connor Heath to be involved for the first time.

The club are running a coach to the game at Llanrhaeadr. To book a seat go to the Official Colwyn Bay FC Facebook page.
