Llandudno Coastguard has been describing the impact that yesterday's flood had on communities in North Wales and have warned that a repeat of flooding may be possible again today.

In an update on social media, the team said: "We were called out on Tuesday to Llanfairfechan regarding a number of issues related to tidal flooding.

"One casualty was rescued from a partially submerged vehicle by our colleagues from Bangor Coastguard. Members of Llandudno CRT were deployed to check on the welfare of residents at a number of nearby flooded properties. Fortunately, nobody was in any serious danger."

"Problems were experienced across the North Wales coast as a result of very high tides and strong northerly winds."

"These conditions are expected to be repeated at around 12:15am, 12.30pm Wednesday 10th April, and 1.16pm on Thursday 11th April. These times are based on high tide at Llandudno."

"Please stay away from low-lying coastal areas at these times. The sea is unpredictable and unforgiving, and it is very easy to be caught unawares and find yourself in serious danger.

"If you are in trouble yourself or become aware of anyone in danger or distress anywhere around the coast, please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
