Conwy County Borough Council has elected Charlie McCoubrey as its new Leader following their Annual General Meeting earlier today.
Mr. Coubrey is the independent Councillor for the Pentre Mawr ward in Abergele and has held the post of Cabinet Member for Housing and Regulatory Services.
Sam Rowlands, the leader of Conwy Council resigned his position following success at securing a regional seat for the Conservatives in last week's Senedd elections.
Also at this morning’s meeting, Cllr Abdul Khan was re-elected as Chair of the Council; Cllr Ifor Lloyd as Vice-Chair; and Cllr Sue Lloyd-Williams as Chair of the Democratic Services Committee.
