Old Colwyn is holding a summer event to celebrate the life of Kev Lea. Funds are being raised for the local community as well as Kev’s son Theo Lea.

The event will cater to both adults and children with the bar opening from 10am until 10pm, food and football matches will take place along with varied events such as auctions, raffles, live music, face painting and a bouncy castle.

KEVFEST will take place on Sunday 26th May, at Colwyn Bay Football Club from 10am. Organisers of the event are overwhelmed by the support so far and hope that it will continue throughout the event.

Andy Dwyer said: “We hope to make this an annual event that becomes Epic. We are aiming high!”

Characters such as, Lego, Batman, Curious George, The Minions, Minnie Mouse, Star Wars and Buzz Lightyear will be making an appearance.

A range of incredible prizes can be won during the event including a 1 night stay in Escape Boutique B&B.

Free hot tub hire for a weekend, full decoration for any occasion and 1 hour hire of a candy floss and popcorn machine are to name a few prizes with thanks to R&J events.

The vast amount of people at Kev’s funeral demonstrated just how amazing he was.

Andy said: “The overwhelming feeling after the funeral on the 7th of January 2019 from chatting to so many was that we needed to do something, and something big!

"To celebrate his life and bring together so many, who since his untimely passing have stayed in touch after many years of doing the opposite as well as the many friends he has made along the way.

"To do this on an annual basis would be incredible, that dear friends is a legacy.”

Within four hours of the event being posted it reached 6,000 people and had an overwhelming response.

Organisers are looking for some more stall holders and also bands to perform. If you require any information or would like to get involved with the event please contact Andy Dwyer on andydwyerpboro@gmail.com.
