Concerns have been raised about delays to Royal Mail deliveries across parts of North Wales, with residents and organisations reporting post arriving late, inconsistently or in large batches.

Clwyd Member of the Senedd Darren Millar has contacted Royal Mail after being approached by residents in Colwyn Bay, Rhos on Sea, Towyn and Kinmel Bay who say they have experienced problems with deliveries in recent weeks.

He said similar concerns had also been reported in other parts of North Wales and has asked Royal Mail for an explanation and reassurance that action is being taken to resolve the issues.

He said residents rely on postal services for important correspondence, including medical appointment letters, test results, bills and official documents, making delays particularly concerning.

Mr Millar said: “In recent weeks I have again been contacted by constituents who are experiencing problems with delayed mail deliveries.

“Residents rely on Royal Mail for important correspondence, including bills, medical appointment letters, test results, and other official documents, so it is extremely concerning to hear that people are not receiving their post as they should.

“I have raised these concerns with Royal Mail once again to demand an explanation and to know what action is being taken to address this problem.”

The issue has also been experienced by local broadcaster Bayside Radio in Colwyn Bay, which says it has seen delays affecting its incoming post.

The station reports that some First Class stamped mail has been taking up to a week to arrive after posting, while other items have been delivered in batches rather than arriving on the expected days.

Bayside Radio says the delays have affected the reliability of receiving important correspondence and have added to wider concerns being raised by residents and businesses about the consistency of postal services.

Royal Mail has previously acknowledged that some areas can experience delivery disruption due to factors including staff availability, recruitment challenges, and operational pressures, but customers experiencing problems are encouraged to report issues directly.

The concerns come as postal services continue to play an important role for communities, particularly for people who depend on receiving essential information and documents through the post.
