Be part of something special Volunteer at the Eisteddfod

June 11, 2019 - 1261 views

With the National Eisteddfod coming to Conwy in August, organisers have today reached out to the community to help manage and assist in the running of this year's cultural event.

Without the invaluable assistance and support of an army of volunteers, staging the National Eisteddfod would simply not be possible.

Scores of people help out at the National Eisteddfod each year, many of them on a voluntary basis.

Although volunteers aren't paid money, they get a free day ticket for each day they volunteer, plus a food voucher if they are available for two shifts on one day.

The National Eisteddfod is a celebration of the Welsh language, and many visitors speak Welsh.  Organisers have said that if you can’t speak Welsh or don’t feel very confident, they will do our best to pair you with a Welsh speaker where required.

It is a great opportunity to see this important event up close and personal as well as practising your Welsh langauge skills if you are a learner.

You can register your interest online until 21st June. Alternatively call 0845 4090400 for a postal form.

Volunteers should be available if required for training on 6th and 28th July  and throughout the Eisteddfod event in August.
