Colwyn Bay FC boss Craig Hogg has added Iain Bennett and John Gilbertson to his backroom staff as new assistant manager and first team coach.

Iain, who is UEFA A Licence coach with the Liverpool FC Academy, will take over from Mark Orme, who has left the club to pursue a full time career in player development and coach education, while John has been working with the Colwyn Bay Academy and Reserves.

The manager commented: "Iain is currently out in South Korea working with Liverpool's International Academy. He will take up the post when he returns from Asia in late August. He is a young, exciting and very capable coach with a strong CV and known by many in the region.

"I am really pleased we can offer him this role and I am sure he will really put his own stamp on it."

Iain commented: "I am grateful for the opportunity that Craig and Neil have given me and I'm looking forward to working with Craig. I am really excited by the challenge ahead and look forward to working with the talented squad that has been assembled.

"The challenge of coaching at a club that matches the same ambitions that I have, of pushing for promotion next season, really excites me.

"I will still continue to work for Liverpool FC, both in the UK and also in Europe, but my focus will be on making sure Colwyn Bay are successful on the pitch for the coming campaign."

On John Gilbertson, the manager said: "John has been promoted from the academy and reserve team set up to the role of First Team coach and it is more great news for us.

"John is currently in the final stages of his UEFA B Licence and this natural progression is one that makes complete sense for him and our club for a number of reasons.

"The link between the first team set up and the teams in and around that will now be stronger than ever, but equally as important, John will bring much to the first team as well.

"I am looking forward to working with both guys."
