A much-loved North Wales charity is inviting people to get baking for a good cause as it launches one of its most popular fundraising events of the year.
Hope House Tŷ Gobaith has announced the return of its “Let’s Eat Cake” week for 2026, encouraging communities across the region to host cake sales and coffee mornings between May 18 and 25.
The campaign, supported by Denbigh-based Henllan Bakery, is all about bringing people together while raising vital funds for children with life-threatening conditions and their families.
From workplaces to schools and homes, organisers are urging people to get creative in the kitchen – whether baking from scratch or buying in treats – with every slice sold helping to support local hospice care.
Henllan Bakery, which has been producing bread and cakes in Wales since 1908, is once again backing the initiative. Director Ainslie Edwards said the team is proud to be involved and hopes people across North Wales will join in.
The campaign was officially launched in fun fashion, with the charity’s mascot, Hope House Hippo, visiting the Henllan factory in Denbigh, where many of the bakery’s products are still decorated by hand.
Fundraiser Bethan Young said the partnership is a natural fit, highlighting shared values and a strong connection to the community. She encouraged people to get involved, saying even the smallest effort can make a big difference to families facing incredibly difficult circumstances.
Hope House Tŷ Gobaith provides specialist care and support to more than 750 children and their families across North Wales, as well as parts of England. Its services include nursing care, emotional support and bereavement help, supporting families from diagnosis and beyond.
Running the charity costs around £10 million each year, with the majority of funding relying on public donations and community support.
Those taking part in “Let’s Eat Cake” week will receive help from local fundraisers, including promotional materials and advice to make their event a success.
For many families in North Wales, the hospice’s work is a lifeline – and this May, the charity is hoping communities will come together once again to turn cake into care.
