Colwyn Bay FC has paid tribute to Amy Conway-Williams following her death after a battle with cancer.

Amy was a member of the club’s ladies team and also served on its registered supporters committee, where she played an active role in supporting the club off the pitch.

In a statement, the club said it was “deeply saddened” by the news and described Amy as a valued member of the team who would be “remembered fondly by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her”.

Tributes have begun to emerge from teammates, supporters and those involved with the club, many highlighting her commitment, positivity and contribution to both the playing side and the wider club community.

Amy had been part of the club for a number of years, combining her involvement on the pitch with voluntary work behind the scenes — something seen as vital to the running and spirit of grassroots football.

The club has extended its condolences to her family, friends and teammates at what it described as an “incredibly difficult time”.

It is expected that further tributes will be paid in the coming days.
