The Welsh Mountain Zoo - National Zoo of Wales, is celebrating the just-released news from Welsh Government on a confirmed date for reopening.

The Zoo, alongside many other operators in the tourism sector, is set to throw open its gates on Monday 26th April welcoming visitors for the first time since closing its doors before Christmas last year.

All departments at the Zoo have spent the last few weeks preparing the Zoo for reopening ahead of a potential date announcement.

Resuming normal Summer opening hours of 9.30am to 6pm seven days a week, with last admissions at 4.50pm, the Zoo is once again urging its visitors to pre-book online as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Nick Jackson, CEO of the Welsh Mountain Zoo said: “We are delighted with today’s announcement that outdoor tourist attractions in Wales are able to re-open.

“This is the news that we have all been waiting for after a long and challenging winter. We will, of course be operating safely, with updated procedures available, in advance of a visit, on our website.

“We can’t wait to see our friends and supporters again just in time for a sunny Spring reopening.”

Nick added:“We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank our friends and supporters for the great lengths they have gone to over the past year to support the Zoo charity.

“We are truly humbled by what each and every one of them have done, and we hope will continue to do, in support of the National Zoo of Wales.”
