Airbus is up next in a huge month of football for the Bay

After an incredibly exciting match against Prestatyn Town on Friday, up next for Colwyn Bay is an away game at high-flying Airbus UK Broughton.

The game on Saturday September 18 (2:30pm kick off) marks what is going to be a huge month for the club.

It is the first of three consecutive league games against teams currently in the top three - with a home game against third-placed Llandudno and a trip to league leaders Guilsfield to follow.

The Bay moved into the top five after their five goal thriller against Prestatyn Town, but second-in-the table Airbus, who have former Bay midfielder Jamie Crowther as a first team coach,  are on a seven-match unbeaten run and are the division's top scorers after a 6-2 win at Llanidloes in their last game.

Llandudno-born Beau Cornish, who had a brief spell with the Seagulls during the curtailed 2019/20 season and showed much promise prior to signing pro forms with The New Saints, has been in good form since joining Airbus  on loan.

The Wingmen will, however,  be without  front man Nathan Brown, who had two short loan spells at the Bay when he was at Chester. He unluckily suffered a broken foot in the recent Welsh Cup win at Llandudno.

The Hollingsworth Group Stadium has been quite a lucky ground for Colwyn Bay in recent years.

They have already won there twice this season against Gresford Athletic (league and cup), and the last time they played Airbus there, in a 2018/19 pre-season friendly, they also won 3-2 with goals from Danny Andrews, Lassana Mendes and Ash Ruane.
