Part of a popular seafront car park in Prestatyn has been temporarily closed following a rise in anti-social driving and dangerous behaviour.
Denbighshire County Council said barriers in the middle section of Nova West car park have been shut after reports of drag racing and other reckless driving incidents in the area.
The council said the anti-social behaviour had also caused disturbance to neighbouring properties, prompting action to improve safety and reduce disruption for nearby residents.
Officials are now working alongside North Wales Police to introduce measures aimed at deterring dangerous driving and tackling those responsible.
The authority said the restrictions are temporary and that the car park will fully reopen once the new measures have been implemented.
In the meantime, a smaller section of the car park will remain open for public use.
The council also confirmed it will contact organisers of the weekly Parkrun event to ensure the temporary closure does not affect Saturday morning gatherings at the site.
Nova West has long been a popular location for walkers, runners and visitors to Prestatyn’s coastline, but authorities say the recent behaviour has raised significant safety concerns.
