A 17-strong team of employees from Conwy based Cadnant Planning and Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors organised a “Lockdown challenge”, which saw them running or walking the equivalent of the Wales Coastal Path and Offa’s Dyke to raise funds for their local adult and children’s hospices.

Starting from their front doors, the team all took part in the fitness challenge individually and in totalled achieved 1,050 miles the same length of two popular footpaths in Wales.

Ffion Davies, Cadnant Planning said: “Charities like St David’s Hospice are hugely important to many of us in North Wales and they face serious difficulties in raising enough funds for their services at this present time.

“We understand it has been difficult to continue with regular fundraising events and we usually support the NWBC Corporate Quiz Night which raises funds for St David’s; however, given its postponement until later on this year, we will still continue to support the quiz but we also wanted to do something in the interim.

The team raised £2,893 through their onlince sponsorship page, which was split equally between St David’s Hospice and Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice.

Ffion continued:“We hope the funding we’ve raised will help ‘fill a gap’ for the time being due to current circumstances and will help St David’s Hospice be able to carry out their vital services.

“We wanted to organise a challenge which would not only raise funds for such a fantastic charity, but would also benefit the well-being of our teams.

“Being in the outdoors and making the most of our daily exercise allowance has been really beneficial to us all and we want to thank everyone who donated to such a worthy cause.”

James Wilde, Conwy Area Fundraiser thanked the team and said: “It is fantastic to see our local community coming together to help us in what is every difficult times for the Hospice. It is a great achievement and we can’t thank them enough for their support”
