A huge weekend of fun on the Colwyn Bay Prom!

May 16, 2023 - 684 views

Thousands turned out for Prom Xtra on Colwyn Bay’s Promenade last Saturday.

The event kicked off a fantastic weekend including Colwyn Bay's first ever Pride event on Sunday which was organised by Together for Colwyn Bay with support from Conwy County Borough Council.

On Saturday, crowds were entertained with a new sandcastle competition which was won by 10 year old Elizah, a giant scaletrix, a 360 photobooth, quadbikes, bubble football and the funfair plus many other activities.

This year the event hosted two live entertainment stages, the main stage on the promenade and an acoustic stage on the pier. Plus there was food from across the world from biltong to churros and of course ice creams for the very sunny day.

Councillor Aaron Wynne, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure said, “Prom Xtra offers a brilliant day out to families in North Wales, and once again this year didn’t disappoint.

“It’s a fantastic event offering so much free entertainment for all ages, and a variety to suit all tastes. Prom Xtra proved to be the right environment for a great day out with friends and family.

“Once again we’d like to thank our sponsors Bay of Colwyn Town Council, Knightly’s Fun Park, Foster Wales Conwy, and North Wales Adoption Service for helping us provide a successful Prom Xtra ‘23”
