St David’s Hospice have thanked all the members of the Rhos-on-Sea and Llangefni Rotary for their continued support and for their kind-hearted voluntary work.

Since launching the Tree of Lights 24 years ago, the campaign has raised over £386,000 for local end of life care. The St David’s Hospice Tree of Lights continues to shine brightly in memory of loved ones and remains a comfort to all at a difficult time of year.

Last year, services were held in Rhos-on-Sea and Llangefni to remember loved ones. Both services were well attended by local supporters and included switching on the lights and local choirs. The total raised in 2022 by the Tree of Lights campaign is a phenomenal £26,245.

A message from the President of Rhos-on-Sea Rotary Club, Pauline Hogan, “We are very pleased to say that this year to date, it has raised £26,245 (excluding tax gift aid), every penny of which has gone directly to St David’s Hospice to support them in the good work they do.

“A total of £386,000 has now been raised since we started the Tree of Lights. I am writing to express our Club’s sincere appreciation to those who contributed and supported this very worthy cause.

“Those who supported the Tree of Lights can rightly share with us our delight at such amount. The satisfaction of knowing that our local St David’s Hospice has benefited through people’s amazing generosity, helping terminally ill people, young and old alike who are in such need of support along with their relatives and carers.

“I hasten to add that this is not just a fundraising event because equally importantly, it gives so many of us within our communities the opportunity to remember and commemorate loved ones at what can be a difficult time.”

The Hospice would like to thank the Rhos-on-Sea and Llangefni Rotary clubs once again for their continued support.

St David’s Hospice are looking forward to a very exciting 2023 which will hopefully be just as successful in raising much needed funds for the services provided in our local communities.
