Parents in Conwy and at schools across North Wales should prepare for more Covid related disruption at the start of the new term.

After Christmas, teachers and lecturers at many establishments have been given a number of days to allow them to prepare for online classes instead of doing face-to-face teaching in the classroom.

Although the first day of school back after the New Year and Christmas holidays is officially Monday January 10th, parents are been asked to prepare for the possibility of a later start due to increasing number of Omicron cases which have esculated over the holidays.

First Minister Mark Drakeford has today urged all schools to prepare for online learning amid the possibility of further esculation of cases and worries over staff sickness and availabilty.

Announcements from Conwy schools and the local authority are expected by Wednesday of next week.
