Bayside Radio's Jeff Pearson finds out more about Mochdre based Creating Enterprise, what they do and how they assist and support our community.

Hear Ffion and Karen talk about their work along with a number of special projects including:

Volunteering

Cartrefi Conwy tenants can find volunteering opportunities through Creating Enterprise. You can volunteer in a number of different types of work, based on the services that Cartrefi Conwy and Creating Enterprise provide.

Paid Employment for Tenants

Cartrefi Conwy unemployed tenants can apply for paid employment at Creating Enterprise in the following areas when vacancies are available.

  • Administration
  • Painting
  • Groundworks
  • Property clearance and cleans
  • General labouring

Contracts are between 12 – 18 months during which time participants are supported by a mentor to help them develop and secure permanent employment at the end of their contract.

Jobs Search & Job Café

Creating Enterprise can provide help and advice including writing a CV that gets results, help with filling out application forms, free and accredited employability skills training, and training via the Get Ready for Employment programme.

Jobs Bus

The Jobs Bus goes out to help us reach those job seekers who can’t come to their base in Mochdre.

On the Jobs Bus you’ll find adverts for local jobs, and trained staff to help you apply for them. Their team will help you to perform job searches, write your CV and complete online applications, and tell you about the volunteering and training opportunities available not only in Creating Enterprise but throughout the county.

Get Ready for Employment

GRFE is a 10 week employability skills programme for people aged 25+ living in Conwy County who are looking for employability and soft skills support.

To qualify, people must be aged 25 and over, live in Conwy and have been unemployed for 12 months or more, or economically inactive, for example, caring for someone at home and may have been unable to work and are needing the support.

Making Work – Work for All

A project funding by the Big Lottery aimed at social housing tenants and those living in private rented accommodation who are working families but struggling financially.

The funding will bring about positive changes to the lives of working families who are supporting at least one child but don’t have enough resources to meet their basic needs. We will do this by bringing together families (in similar geographical) areas who may be affected by similar issues to let them identify, design and deliver(through co-production) activities to improve their lives. The project is aimed at those living in Peulwys, Llandudno, Rhos on Sea / Mochdre. Creating Enterprise will be holding monthly engagement events to gather ideas from families.
