A local zoo has just announced an exciting new project to get young people into conservation and discovering about the world's many animals.

Enthusiastic youngsters who have an interest in finding out what it's like being a zookeeper are being encouraged to join the Wild Rangers programme at the Welsh Mountain Zoo over the spring and summer.

The special 2 day Wild Rangers course will allow children aged 7–12 to explore the zoo, get up close to some of amazing animals and also enjoy investigating our natural world.

Children will join in with a range of hands-on activities and games to highlight the important role zoos play in conservation.

At the end of the course children will gain a certificate of participation, as well as getting to keep their exclusive Wild Rangers T-shirt as a souvenir of their days spent at the zoo.

Each of 7 programmes planned between Easter and the end of school holidays in Auguest is limited to 10 children, so that they can get the best experience possible.
