Traffic on the A55 North Wales Expressway is moving again today after a fire caused the road to be shut between Junction 16a and 17 in both directions.
Vehicles were held on the Expressway as result of a fire which broke out in the Penmaenbach Tunnel.
Fire crews were called to the scene and cordoned off the affected area. North Wales Police have confirmed that it was an electrical fire. The closure led to long queues and gridlock in the surrounding areas.
Some drivers have been warned that they face penalties after being caught of camera driving against the traffic flow in a bid to escape the queues.
