Town mourns the passing of well respected businessman

A well known businessman with connections to Colwyn Bay, Rhos on Sea and Llandudno has sadly passed away.

Bryan Davies, who was founder and proprietor of the estate agents that bears his name passed away aged 85 after a short illness.

As well as running a thriving group of estate agencies across the area he was a very active Rotarian having held almost every office in the Llandudno club, being President in 1978/79 and awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship in 2002 in recognition of his service. He joined the Llandudno Rotary Club in 1966 and was by far their most famous member.

Bryan’s interests extended well beyond Rotary. He was a past Captain, Chairman and then President and Life Member of Maesdu Golf Club, a mainstay of the Victoria Club in Craig –y –Don and was heavily involved in the Great Orme Masonic Lodge.

Born in Llanrhos and schooled at Craig y Don Primary and then Rydal, Bryan lived all his life in Llandudno, save for two years of National Service and for seven years in Canada in his twenties.

Bryan’s golf was a great passion and he represented Wales in Rotary International Golfing Championships numerous times, including being Captain for Wales.

Bryan leaves a widow, Dorothy and two sons Sean and Tim; Paul, the eldest son, died some years ago.
