Stories and heroes come to the Zoo in time for the holidays

July 30, 2021 - 762 views

Children and families in Conwy will have a roaring good time from next week as story time comes to the Welsh Mountain Zoo in the school holidays.

This year Conwy libraries have teamed up with the Welsh Mountain Zoo to bring you bilingual story-times every Monday up at the zoo as part of the Summer Reading Challenge – Wild World Heroes!

Stories are free and open to all Zoo visitors but you must pre-book your Zoo entry tickets online.

Story telling will take place on the following Mondays: 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd of August and will be held at 10, 11, 2 and 3 o’clock.

Why not come along to these fun outdoor story-times and be a wild world hero! You can sign up to the reading challenge here www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/join-in

The Summer Reading Challenge can’t wait to introduce everyone to brilliant heroes and get kids set up on their reading journey.

Take a trip to Wilderville, where the Wild World Heroes are learning how to make their town a cleaner, greener place for all the people and wildlife that live there. As children read books for the Challenge, they'll get to go exploring all over Wilderville, from the woods to the farm and even the beach!

With your help, the heroes will transform Wilderville into an even cooler place to be, and everyone will discover lots of brilliant books along the way.

The zoo recommend bringing a lovely picnic blanket to sit on whilst you enjoy the storytelling!
