Snow and ice in North Wales caps a week of bad weather

January 22, 2021 - 802 views

North Wales is bracing for more bad weather this weekend, following on from the high rainfall experienced earlier this week.

From Friday evening through to Saturday at 6pm, the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice and snow across much of Wales, parts of the South and North West England.

Temperatures over the weekend are expected to drop to as low as -1 degree celcius overnight with daytime temperatures around 3 degrees celcius.

Forecasters have predicted 10-15 cms of snow in Snowdonia and in the Brecon Beacons, with isolated flurries expected closer to the North Wales coast by late Saturday afternoon.

A yellow 'be-aware' weather warning for ice and snow highlights the need to take care as safe travel may be disrupted and the risk of falls and injury is heightened.
