Colwyn Bay is getting set for a Saturday spectacular as organisers turn their attention to the setting up of the Prom Xtra event on the Promenade's sea front.

Porth Eirias on the waterfront has been transformed into the control room for the eagerly awaited event.

The event for 2019 promises to be a memorable one with news that the recently announced Rally GB cars will be making an appearance this year to promote the special stage coming to the town in the Autumn.

Each year families look forward to Prom Xtra and Saturday's event won't fail to dissapoint according to the organisers Events Conwy.

From 10am until the evening, there will be many free activities to keep the whole family entertained including a funfair for all of the screamers, stalls for all the shopaholics, entertainment for all, and thrills and fun on the beach.

Do you have an active child in your family? Then why not bring them along to try out the hilarious bubble football, or test their bravery on the climbing wall and cave. There’re also opportunities to have a go at kids’ quads, segways and kayaking.

Plenty of exciting entertainment is also available for younger visitors too.

The Wheelie Play Bus is a converted double-decker bus which provides a safe and fun soft play area for children ages 3 – 8. And after their allotted time is up there’s plenty more on offer to keep the fun lasting all day.

For the more creative types Prom Xtra offers a range of artistic activities, suitable for all ages, such as the sand art workshop, plus other opportunities with View Creative.

Other awe-inspiring shows include a Magician’s Act in the Prom Live Zone, as well as an exciting bike show performance from Mobile Bike Events who’ll be showing off their impressive skillsets in the Adventure Zone. Here is where you’ll also find the Racing Bug, have a go at a giant scaletrix!

Thanks to Eric and Friends, Prom Xtra gives everyone the chance to meet and interact with some exotic guests, the reptiles and insects will be on display for you too to get acquainted with Eric’s friends.

This year Abergele's Pet Place will provide a fun area for dogs, as well as advice and guidance for dog owners.
