September 18, 2018 - 1243 views

Today North Wales Police launched their latest crackdown on the scourge of knife crime by launching Knife Amnesty Week.

The initiative which will run until Friday gives anyone with with offensive weapons or knives which could be considered dangerous to dispose of them and 'bin the blades' at Police stations with no questions asked.

Operation Spectre is running across the country in co-operation with a number of police forces and whilst it is not considered that the Bay of Colwyn has a problem with knife crime, local officers wish to keep it that way.

Earlier this year 4000 knives were seized in Wales and England during a similar scheme.

Anyone who wishes to hand over knives can do so in confidence at Colwyn Bay Police Station on Rhiw Road from 9am - 1pm and 3pm - 6pm on Monday and Thursday.

Alternatively at Llandudno Police Station, 9am - 1pm and 3pm - 6pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday
