Jamie Cummings scored twice, including a second half penalty , as the Seagulls moved into the top three of the JD Cymru North with a 4-0 home win over Penrhyncoch.

Craig Linfield and Dan Atkins were the other Bay scorers, while only a string of saves by visiting keeper Leigh Jenkins prevented a much bigger defeat for his side.

Colwyn Bay pressed from the start with Craig Linfield heading narrowly wide, Jaamie Cumming having a shot tipped over the bar by the keeper and Lloyd Marsh-Hughes shooting just over the bar having two other efforts saved by the keeper.

The breakthrough, however, came after 36 minutes with Cumming heading home from a Craig Lindfield cross.

Jenkins made a couple more very good saves to deny Lloyd Marsh-Hughes, one at point blank range, and another from Craig Linfield, although Bay keeper Rhys Williams also had to make a good save to ensure the Bay remained in front at half-time.

Some last ditch defending and anothr save by Jenkins from Lloyd Marsh-Hughes after he had been set up by Josh Carey, before Bay finally doubled their lead with Craig Linfield tapping in a rebound after Josh Carey’s shot came back off the bar.

Jamie Cumming then emphatically put away a penalty, awarded for a push in tyhe back, and Dan Atkins added the fourth goal from Will McKinley’s cross.

As Bay pressed for more goals Jenkins saved from Josh Carey, Luke Gregson (on his home debut) and Joe Williams.
