DangerPoint, the award winning interactive visitor centre for North Wales recently unveiled a new feature specifically designed to teach children about the dangers of knife crime.

A new display board offers youngsters the chance to discover the different outcomes that can occur when they choose to carry knives.

Funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the board is an important addition to the fun and interactive activities where visitors journey from the home to the beach, countryside, playground, farm and highways.

Opened in Talacre in 2005 and with links to schools across Conwy and Denbighshire, DangerPoint offers a safe environment where visitors learn about risks and how to keep safe, whilst most importantly having fun.

Mandy Hanson, Serious Violence Prevention Coordinator for North Wales Police said: “Dangerpoint is excellent at providing young people with the life skills to deal with today’s issues in an interesting, informative and age appropriate way.”

The centre now welcomes over 7,000 youngsters every year, and has recently passed the 91,000 visitors mark.

As a founder partner organisation, North Wales Police’s Chief Constable Carl Foulkes is a member of the board of trustees.
