A call to the Llandudno Coastguard was reported on Christmas Day in response to what was thought to be a dangerous device washed up on the beach in Deganwy.
A spokseperson for the service said: "We were called out just after 10pm on Christmas day to a report of an explosive ordnance device (EOD) on the beach at Deganwy.
"On arrival we quickly ascertained that the object was a length of large bore plastic pipe. We were able to safely remove the object from the beach to ensure that it was not washed back out to sea to cause problems elsewhere.
"It can be very difficult to determine exactly what an object washed up on a beach actually is. If you are in any doubt please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
