Beach set for 'makeover' ahead of new season

Colwyn Bay Beach is set to receive its annual seasonal 'makeover' in readiness for another busy spring and summer.

Parts of the beach which has been praised by local and visitors alike will be closed in sections over the next few weeks to allow for essential maintainence and movement of the sand. The work will planned in such a way as to limit inconvenience to the many individuals and groups that use the beach all year round.

Conwy County Council have said that all work will be completed in time for the Easter Holidays.

The promenade and beach has enjoyed a renaissance in recent times since a massive investment was made by Conwy County Council and European investment as part of the successful BayLife project.

Visitor numbers and footfall have said to have increased with waterfront businesses reporting an upturn. The beach has been highlighted as one of the main factors behind the the improved confidence and 'positivity' in the area.
