North Wales Police have reported that an arrest has been made following a spate of break ins and thefts in Rhos-on-Sea.

"In recent weeks we have experienced a spike in thefts and out building break ins in the Rhos on Sea area.

"As a result of some extremely helpful information from the general public and some great pro-active working between Response officers and Neighbourhood Policing staff we are pleased to inform you that a local male has been arrested, charged and convicted for a number of these offences.

"He received a 52 week custodial sentence at Llandudno Magistrates Court on the 4th of Feb. Since this sentence has been imposed we have had no further reports of this type of offending in that area.

"This highlights both the important part the community play in local policing and what can be achieved through close working of the two strands of the Local Policing team in West Conwy.

"Please can we remind people that if  you need to contact the police to use the online web chat service or 101 non emergencies.  Should the call be urgent then please call 999."
