In an era where technology is continuously transforming industries, the charity sector is no exception. The recent CVSC Conference shed light on how modern technology is revolutionizing donation experiences for charities. A key highlight was a conversation with Will Diath from Everfund, a cutting-edge platform designed to enhance the donation process for both charities and donors.

Everfund is not just another donation platform; it is a comprehensive tool that empowers charities to tailor their donation experiences. Whether you're a large organization or a small charity, Everfund offers a solution that can be seamlessly integrated into your website or used as standalone landing pages for specific campaigns. This flexibility allows charities to target different donor segments effectively, especially during peak donation periods like Christmas.

Among the bustling crowd of community groups and charities was Eirian from the National Lottery Community Fund, a much sought-after delegate at the event. During our conversation, Erian shed light on the vital role the National Lottery plays in supporting community-led projects across Wales.

The National Lottery Community Fund has been a cornerstone of community development for over 30 years, awarding £36.8 million across 1005 grants last year alone. These grants, ranging from £300 to £500,000, empower communities to turn their innovative ideas into reality. Erian emphasised the importance of grassroots involvement, stating, "Our funding aims to give people the power to build and strengthen their community by supporting them to come together and improve lives."

Hosted at Venue Cymru during the Third Sector Conference, the discussion features insights from Jason, a key figure at the CVSC.

Jason provides a sobering perspective on the current economic climate, describing it not just as a cost of living crisis, but for some, a cost of existing crisis. This poignant observation underscores the urgency of the issue and highlights the critical need for coordinated community support. The episode explores how these hubs serve as one-stop-shops for information and services, aiming to simplify the often daunting process of seeking help.

n a world where inclusivity and community engagement are more important than ever, the recent CVSC conference highlighted the power of collaboration and advocacy. This event brought together a remarkable panel, including Emma from Pride Cymru and Jenny Ann, an advocate for transgender issues, to discuss how organisations can effectively work with the LGBTQI+ community to drive change.

One of the key themes of the conference was the concept of "allies and advocacy," a new project aimed at involving organisations across North Wales in community-centric initiatives. The discussion emphasised the need for organizations to shift from doing things "for the community" to doing them "with the community." This approach not only fosters inclusivity but also ensures that policies and initiatives are relevant and impactful.

The panelists shared valuable insights on how organisations can overcome the common issue of ownership within LGBTQI+ groups. Too often, individuals or groups hold on tightly to their initiatives, missing out on the benefits of shared resources and collaboration. By working together and forming alliances, communities can push their causes forward more effectively and with greater impact.
