North Wales is getting set to remember loved ones this Christmas as the annual Tree of Lights switches on this Sunday during a unprecedented time for many local families.

The events of 2020 have brought many challenges to families and loved ones. With the festive period fast approaching, Christmas is going to be both a joyful and emotional time as we naturally reflect and think of those who are no longer with us.

For a donation of your choice to the St. David's Hospice, you are invited to dedicate a light on the Hospice’s Rotary Club Tree of Lights to remember a loved one and support the work of the Hospice at the same time.

For every dedication, a Tree of Lights card will be sent to you by post and your loved ones’ names will also be entered into a special ‘Book of Lights’, which will be available to view online throughout 2021.

The switch on of the tree in Rhos-on-Sea is normally marked by a special ceremony which won't be possible this year due to the pandemic and the need for social distancing.

Instead, there will a virtual ‘switch on’ ceremony will be posted online this Sunday (29th November 2020) at 4:30pm for you to view your light being switched on for the first time.

In order to view the service, you can visit the St David’s Hospice website – https://stdavidshospice.org.uk/st-davids-hospice-rotary-tree-of-lights-2020-virtual-switch-on-ceremony/
