The Welsh Mountain Zoo is making children's Christmas come alive from today (Thursday 19th) thanks to the start of some pre-Christmas fun and games!

The Zoo has a host of Christmas themed activities and events planned including the return of the Grotty Grotto from the 19th - 22nd December. And as part of the Zoo’s annual festive drive and celebration, visitors are able to benefit from half price entry until 5thJan 2020.

An antidote to a traditional grotto, Father Christmas will ride in on his sleigh pulled by Red Legged Millipedeswhere young grotto goers will be encouraged to handle Giant Land Snails and hissing cockroaches whilst learning more about these wonderful animals in the form of storytelling.

Marcia Azevedo Moreira, Marketing & Sales Manager at the Welsh Mountain Zoo explained, “We’re very excited about Christmas and look forward to welcoming Zoo lovers from near and far to enjoy a day in our wintry wonderland.”

“Christmas is most definitely our favourite time of the year here at the Zoo and we want to spread some festive cheer and enjoy the spirit of the season.

"We’ve brought forward our half price entry to make sure everyone who wants to visit can share a special Christmas day with the team and the animals!”
