Storm Claudia: South floods, North hit by wind and rain

Natural Resources Wales has issued an urgent warning about severe flooding from Storm Claudia in South East Wales and Powys.

An amber rain warning is in effect until midnight with heavy rainfall expected in the early evening.

In North Wales, heavy rainfall has created problems and localised flooding on some roads, and higher than average water levels in some rivers.

A yellow weather warning for strong winds across many parts of North West Wales is in place until 6am tomorrow morning.

Flood alerts and flood warnings for rivers and the coast are updated on the Natural Resources Wales website every 15 minutes and are available to view at www.naturalresources.wales/flooding

Information and updates are also available by calling Floodline on 0345 988 1188.

As well as checking flood risk and signing up for warnings, people can also check a 5-day flood forecast for the local authority areas across Wales, and find practical advice on how to prepare for flooding.
