Ride safer this summer with North Wales BikeSafe

Motorcyclists across North Wales are being encouraged to sign up for the latest BikeSafe workshop in Colwyn Bay, with just four places remaining.

The one-day workshop, organised by North Wales Police, will take place at Police Headquarters in Glan y Don on Saturday, 18 July, starting at 9am.

BikeSafe is aimed at riders of all experience levels, from those who have recently passed their test to seasoned motorcyclists looking to refresh their skills and become safer on the road.

The workshop combines classroom sessions with an observed ride alongside advanced police motorcyclists, offering practical advice on road positioning, hazard awareness, cornering, overtaking and developing better riding habits.

Police say the course is designed to help riders reduce their risk of being involved in a collision by encouraging safer decision-making and improving observation skills.

Motorcyclists remain among the most vulnerable road users, despite making up a relatively small proportion of traffic. Police continue to encourage riders to wear the correct protective clothing, ensure their motorcycles are roadworthy and ride within both the speed limit and their own abilities.

North Wales Police says BikeSafe is not a test and is intended to help riders identify areas where they can further develop their skills in a supportive environment.

With only four places left, anyone interested in attending is encouraged to book soon before the workshop reaches capacity.
