Rhyl venue offers a feast of winter and seasonal entertainment

Rhyl Pavilion’s 1891 Restaurant and Bar is preparing for a busy autumn and winter, with a programme of events ranging from Oktoberfest celebrations and soul music to Christmas parties and a New Year’s Eve celebration.

The seafront venue, which overlooks the North Wales coast, will host a series of special events between the end of October and New Year’s Eve, combining live entertainment with food and drink.

The programme begins with an Oktoberfest evening on Friday, 30 October, featuring a live Oompah band, traditional German beer and food, including schnitzel and spätzle. Fancy dress is encouraged, with tickets starting at £10, or £27.50 for admission with a meal.

Soul music takes centre stage on Saturday, 7 November, when DJs Tim Conway, Chris Conway and Mike ‘Moonshine’ Roberts play Northern Soul and Modern Soul favourites. Tickets cost £5, with free admission for diners.

A Festive Caribbean event follows on Saturday, 28 November, in collaboration with North Wales-based Up a Yard. The afternoon and evening will feature reggae music, a steel drum duo, a DJ and a Jamaican-inspired menu.

There will also be three Christmas party nights on 4, 5 and 12 December, with a three-course festive menu and live DJ. Tickets cost £49.95.

Soul music returns on Friday, 18 December, for a Christmas Soul Party featuring Tim Conway, with Motown, Northern Soul and seasonal favourites. The event runs from 2pm until 9pm, with tickets priced at £5 or free admission for those dining.

The programme concludes with a New Year’s Eve party on Thursday, 31 December. Guests can welcome 2027 with a three-course meal, a live DJ, casino tables, a midnight snack and fizz at midnight. Tickets cost £69.95, with the event starting at 6.30pm.

James Groves, managing director of Denbighshire Leisure Ltd, which manages the venue, said the programme offered opportunities for people to get together with family and friends, enjoy good food and entertainment, and celebrate the festive season.

The 1891 Restaurant and Bar takes its name from the year the first theatre opened on the site at the end of Rhyl Pier. The modern restaurant is situated on the first floor of Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, with views across the coast towards Snowdonia and Eryri.

The theatre itself hosts a varied programme of touring productions, music, comedy and community performances.

Tickets and further information about the winter events are available at 1891 Restaurant and Bar or through the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre website.
