Three much-loved sea lions at the Welsh Mountain Zoo are set to leave their home this autumn as part of an exciting new chapter for the animals.
Monty, Cali and Sofia have been a popular attraction at the Colwyn Bay zoo for many years, creating memories for generations of visitors.
The zoo says the trio will move together to a new home which will provide them with a larger, modern habitat and greater opportunities to support their long-term welfare.
The move comes as the zoo says its understanding of animal welfare continues to develop, with a commitment to providing the best possible environments for the animals in its care.
Staff say they are proud that Monty, Cali and Sofia will be able to continue their journey together.
The zoo knows many visitors will be disappointed to see the sea lions leave and says they will be missed by staff and visitors alike.
However, there is still plenty of time to see the trio before they move on to their new home.
The Welsh Mountain Zoo is encouraging visitors to make the most of the remaining summer weeks and come along to see Monty, Cali and Sofia before they begin their next adventure.
For many families across North Wales, the sea lions have been a much-loved part of visits to the zoo — making their departure a significant moment for one of the zoo's most familiar attractions.
