Make memories not mess this Bank Holiday Weekend

This Bank Holiday weekend, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood and the Environment is calling on everyone to take responsibility for their own rubbish as they make the most of enjoying the county’s towns, parks, beaches and beauty spots.

Cllr Geoff Stewart said: “There’s no excuse for littering. Most people get rid of their litter responsibly, and it’s disappointing that there’s a minority of people who don’t. Littering has a negative impact on everyone’s enjoyment of nature, is a danger to animals and pollutes our environment.

“There are around 1200 public bins across the county. Council staff will be out over the Bank Holiday weekends to empty public litter bins, but we’d urge everyone to be responsible with their litter.

“If you see a bin that’s full, please don’t leave litter at the side – which could attract animals and vermin or be blown around. Find the next bin with space to use. And if you can’t find a bin, then please take your litter home with you.”
