Volunteers at Royal National Lifeboat Institution lifeboat stations across North Wales are preparing for another busy season along the coast — and support from visitors continues to play an important role in helping them save lives at sea.

At Llandudno Lifeboat Station, crews recently welcomed members of the Northwest Stangs car club for a special visit to the station.

The group arrived on Saturday 28 February in an impressive convoy of vehicles and were greeted by members of the RNLI visits team, who gave them a guided tour and an insight into the work carried out by the station’s volunteer crew.

During the visit, guests learned about the station’s inshore and all-weather lifeboats, how crews respond to emergency call-outs, and the extensive training volunteers undertake to carry out search and rescue operations along the North Wales coastline.

The tour also gave the visitors a closer look at the specialist equipment used during rescues and highlighted the dedication required from volunteers who remain on call to respond at any time, in all weather conditions.

To mark the occasion, the group lined up their vehicles outside the station for photographs overlooking the seafront, creating a striking scene on Llandudno promenade.

The RNLI also thanked the Northwest Stangs for making a generous donation following their visit. As a charity, the RNLI relies heavily on public support to maintain lifeboats, equipment and training for its crews.

With spring and summer approaching, stations like Llandudno are preparing for a rise in visitors to the coast. Lifeboat crews across North Wales — from busy seaside resorts to more remote stretches of shoreline — often see call-outs increase as more people head to the beaches, cliffs and waters of the region.

Thanks to the dedication of volunteers and the support of the public, RNLI stations along the North Wales coast stand ready to respond whenever they are needed, continuing their vital mission of saving lives at sea.
