Inspired by Penrhyn Bay girls? Join their Huddle!

After a fanastic season which saw the Penrhyn Bay under 16 girls team become Welsh Cup winners, the club has become a local champion for Welsh grassroots football.

Following an amazing season which helped inspire a generation of young people from right across Colwyn Bay, Llandudno and Conwy, the club is getting involved in a special initiative called Huddle.

The scheme aims to give young girls the confidence and skills to take their love of football forward and help young people right across Wales to join in the fun.

One of the Huddle centres is in Penrhyn Bay with the Penrhyn Bay Girls and Women team.

Huddle is a fun 10 to 12-week programme, which has been developed to create confidence, find friendships and give girls a great football experience. It kicks-off in the week commencing September 9th.

Then if they want to carry on playing football, the Huddle coordinator will help point them to the place where they can join their local club.

Huddle is for girls aged between 5 and 12-year’s old and is open to all abilities for those who may have played before or those who have never even kicked a ball but wants to give it a try.

This is a special pilot programme from the Football Association of Wales Trust and if successful, the scheme could roll out as a permanant way for young girls to get access to the sport on a local level.
