The organisers of a music festival on Anglesey have said they are "deeply saddened" after an 18-year-old woman died following a medical emergency during the event.
Emergency services were called to the Tonnau Festival at the Carreglwyd Estate near Llanfaethlu at around 1.45am on Saturday after reports that a festival-goer had become seriously unwell.
Despite the efforts of on-site medical teams, paramedics and welfare staff, the teenager was taken to hospital where she later died.
In a statement, festival organisers said: "Everyone at Tonnau Festival is deeply saddened to confirm that a festival attendee tragically passed away in the early hours of Saturday morning following a severe medical emergency.
"Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the attendee's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
"From the moment the attendee became unwell, our on-site welfare teams, security, and emergency medical staff responded immediately.
"Paramedics and welfare personnel did everything they could to provide emergency care, but unfortunately they later died in hospital."
The organisers said the safety and wellbeing of festival-goers remained their highest priority and confirmed the remainder of the event had been cancelled.
North Wales Police confirmed the woman was 18 years old and said her death is being treated as unexpected.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We can confirm that a woman has sadly died at a festival in Llanfaethlu.
"Emergency services attended Tonnau Festival at Carreglwyd Estate at around 1.45am on Saturday following reports of a medical emergency.
Detective Inspector Iolo Edwards said: "Our thoughts remain with the woman's family and loved ones at this difficult time."
