Conwy event aims to help young people plan their future

Young people across Conwy are being invited to an advice and support event at Coleg Llandrillo next week, offering guidance on careers, training, housing and wellbeing.

Conwy County Borough Council is holding the event on Wednesday, October 21, from 10am until 4pm, for people aged between 15 and 24.

Staff from the council’s Youth, Engagement and Belonging Service will be available to explain the support on offer, including help for young people experiencing homelessness, opportunities for those not in education, employment or training, and support for mental health and wellbeing.

Coleg Llandrillo, Careers Wales, COPA Training and Conwy Employment Hub will also be there to provide information about courses, jobs, apprenticeships and training opportunities.

Other organisations attending include North Wales Police, Wynne Construction, JIWSI, Barnardo’s and Conwy Connect.

Councillor Aaron Wynne, the council’s cabinet member for education, said the event would bring a range of information together in one place to help young people navigate the choices available to them.

He encouraged young people to drop in, enjoy a cuppa and find out what support could help them plan their future.

There is no need to attend for the whole day, and refreshments will be available.
