Biker airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after A5 crash

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a collision involving a motorbike and van on the A5 in Eryri.

The crash happened on the A5 between Llyn Ogwen in Gwynedd and Capel Curig yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called at around 4.42pm after reports of a collision involving a red BMW motorcycle and a blue Ford Transit dropside van.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency crews dealt with the incident and a specialist air ambulance was called.

The Midlands Air Ambulance flew the injured biker to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, which has a specialist trauma unit.

North Wales Police is now appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
