Details of an innovative, landmark project has just been announced which aims to support and showcase the work of North Wales and international photographers this autumn.

The Northern Eye Photography Festival is a collaboration between the Oriel Colwyn photography gallery and Aberystwyth's The Eye Festival.

Both festivals are biennial and are hosted on alternate years to ensure an annual celebration of photography takes place in Mid or North Wales.

Building on the huge success of the inaugural Northern Eye in 2017 are thrilled to be returning in October to bring an all new set of outstanding photographers, speakers and exhibitions to the North Wales coastal town of Colwyn Bay.

This honouring of photography is centred around a core speakers weekend, which takes place in Theatr Colwyn on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October.

Organisers have also announced the return of a two week fringe festival, running either side of the weekend. The fringe will be seen in various locations across the town hosting a diverse range of free exhibitions, workshops and events for all.
