Kind-hearted students from Coleg Llandrillo put together shoeboxes full of gifts, which were distributed to the elderly, vulnerable and lonely across North Wales.

Following a charity appeal, the Health and Social Care Level 2 students from the college's Rhos-on-Sea campus donated a range of goods, filling 10 shoeboxes. Items included biscuits, chocolates, socks and gloves. The students also included a greetings card in each box, which they all signed.

They then dropped off the packages at care management company, Abercare in Bangor, which distributed them to those in greatest need.

Student Naomi Hughes from Penmaenmawr said: "It was lovely to do something nice for the elderly and vulnerable, who are maybe lonely too. We hope that they brings smiles to their faces".

Tutor Kate Farmer said: "It is great that the students wanted to give something back to the community, especially the people who are alone. Most of the students made multiple donations, which was especially pleasing".
