Colwyn Bay fans of Sir Tom Jones were left dissapointed tonight after learning about the cancellation of his Chester concert.

Bayside Radio's owner Coast Community took calls from concerned listeners who had looked forward the gig for many months and who had received tickets as birthday and Christmas presents.

However Sir Tom was quick to take to social media to reassure his fans that the Chester concert has been re-scheduled after he was forced to cancel after suffering a bacterial infection and being admitted to hospital. The new date is now Sunday August 12th Unfortunately fans attending Wednesday night's Stanstead Park concert weren't so lucky as the event was cancelled outright without another date replacing it.

Sir Tom quickly took to social media to post this message to those effected by the cancellation.

“I am so sorry for cancelling last night’s show in Chichester, it’s the worse feeling having to let down everyone who was coming as well as everyone who is involved with the event. I know many of you travel considerable distances and make plans with friends and family that take a lot of effort, and it is so disappointing when things don’t go right.

Although I can’t perform again tonight at Chester Racecourse, the good news is that we can get another date in Chester on August 12, so hopefully I will see you there. Until then, a sincere thank you for your support and understanding."

Local fans responded positively with many wishing the music icon a speedy recovery.
