The ever growing popularity of Penrhyn Road as somewhere to drink, eat and socialise has taken a massive boost forward this weekend with the opening of a new wine bar in the town.

Sheldon's Wine Bar opened its doors on Saturday to greet locals and guests in the former premises of Sheldon's the long established stationers in Colwyn Bay. After many months of development and painstaking work, Kate and Julian Roberts along with Lorna and Jon Hughes transformed the premises into a modern venue serving quality wine, cocktails, spirits and beers in a relaxing setting. The bar is also serving a selection of hot food to complement the vast range of drinks on offer.

Sheldon's Wine Bar joins a long line of food and drink establishments which have heavily invested in Penrhyn Road, after the town was identified as a major administrative centre for Conwy County Borough Council. Along with the long established Virigilios, Sheldon's joins Briggs, Haus , Flat White Cafe and the award winning The Bay Hop to provide a comprehensive range of estabishments to suit everyones tastes.

Many locals have even taken to social media to say how surprised they are to see so many quality venues opening in such a relatively short amount of time.

Preparations are now in place for the first of Sheldon's many events and themed nights with the first being an evening of electronic music featuring North Wales based Sword Swinging Robot on Wednesday 21st November.
