Rotarians seek teachers for fact finding Aussie trip

November 25, 2018 - 1337 views

The Rotary Club locally has a fantastic opportunity for any North Wales, Merseyside or South Cheshire teacher to travel to Australia for a month next summer with all travel and accommodation expenses taken care of.

The organisation which has a high profile in Colwyn Bay and Llandudno, are sending a team of four teachers on a working holiday to Queensland to study how schools and other organisations cater for and nurture children with special needs.

The trip reciprocates the visit of a team from Australia in Autumn 2017 at Ysgol Y Gogarth and Ysgol Pendalar.

Any teacher, any age, male or female can apply before the closing date of 31st December and you don't need to be a Rotary member or had any prior involvement or connection to the club.

This is an incredible opportunity and is part of Rotary International’s desire to promote more international understanding.

The trip is expected to start in the Outback area Longreach Queensland and you will be transported overland to the coastal area of Rockhampton and Gladstone. After this you will travel south along the coast to Hervey Bay with an opportunity to visit Fraser Island and the Great Barrier Reef.

If selected, you will be required to attend some team meetings to prepare for the trip and as an organisation we ask that you make yourself available for 12 months after your return to give presentations to Rotary if required.

If you are interested then please complete the attached application form and send it along with a resume to steve.martin30@btopenworld.com .

If you know anyone who just might be interested, do them – and Rotary - a favour by sharing this article with them.
