Pirates set sail for Rhos-on-Sea

June 06, 2018 - 1330 views

This weekend a festival atmosphere will be unfolding in the Bay of Colwyn as the original Conwy Pirate Festival takes camp in Rhos-on-Sea.

The event which relocated from Conwy after experiencing difficulties getting support from local businesses, is promising to be just as big and popular as the events held over the past few years. This year the organisers HTC Events have said that support from trades people in the town has been positive and businesses have really got behind the project.

Saturday's activities will begin from 10am on Captain Prince Madoc's stage on the promenade. There will be also events for all the family on the other two stages, Captain Morgan's stage at the Rhos Fynach and the Shanty Stage outside Spar.

Throughout the weekend families can enjoy a host of activities including Tug of War, Pirate School, Cannon and battle acting plus the opportunity to enjoy pleasure trips on power boats and free kayak use for children over eight. For those families seeking a challenge and wanting to find their own 'pieces of eight', there is an intriguing Treasure Hunt planned. Those taking part must first find a Rhos-on-Sea shop that holds a special map!
